Mary’s Mount Primary School awarded $20,000 Tech Smart School Initiative Grant from Bendigo Bank
Last term, Mary’s Mount Primary School applied for the Tech Smart School Initiative Grant from Bendigo Bank which was offered to all primary and all state secondary schools within the Kalamunda Shire.
At yesterday’s school assembly, Mr Sandro Coniglio, (Mary’s Mount Primary School Principal) accepted a cheque for $20,000 from the Forrestfield and High Wycombe Community Bank branches of Bendigo Bank. The cheque was presented by Mr Ray Morgan (Senior Branch Manager) and Mr Mike Houlahan (Bank Director).
“On behalf of Mary’s Mount Primary School’s Board and school community, it gives me great pleasure to accept this cheque from Bendigo Bank. This grant will enable us to make significant upgrades to our existing IT infrastructure and allow us to add new IT resources into the school which will directly benefit both our students and teachers.” said Mr Coniglio. “Some of the areas that this money will be used includes boosting the school’s Wi-Fi accessibility, making improvements to the library hub, integrating new IT technology into the art room as well as upgrades to IT in our classrooms, early childhood education class hub and our resources consultant.”
Local Forrestfield and High Wycombe Community Bank branches of Bendigo Bank have been great supporters of Mary’s Mount Primary School. Through their grants and community funding programs, Mary’s Mount have been able to improve facilities and infrastructure within the school for students and teachers. In addition, Bendigo Bank has also been a major supporter of Mary’s Mount’s annual ‘Breakfast In the Park’ event (which is attended by almost 1,000 people from the school and local community) and contributed towards Mary’s Mount 90th Celebrations in 2011.
