ThreeWeek MidYear Break Coming in 2027

Catholic Education WA (CEWA) has announced that from 2027, all CEWA schools will move to a three‑week mid‑year break. This change supports the wellbeing of both students and staff while maintaining the same total instructional time across the school year.

To accommodate the additional week, CEWA has made minor adjustments to the 2027 calendar, including the redistribution of four instructional days and, for some schools, a small two‑minute increase to daily timetables. Importantly, students will still receive the same number of teaching hours, with fewer pupil‑free days during term time, which may benefit working families.

Term dates for 2027 will be:

Term 1: 28 January – 9 April

Term 2: 26 April – 25 June

Term 3: 19 July – 24 September

Term 4: 11 October – 10 December

The extended break also offers additional opportunities for teacher professional learning and allows families to plan ahead for OSHC or holiday programs.
